3.1.4. Repositioning a symbol or expression, deleting and undoing In order to improve the draft of formulas and reaction step rules, symbols and expressions can be dragged to another place of the window area. This feature is particularly useful when bonds in a formula cross each other because it allows to better visualize its structure. To drag a symbol or an expression which resides on a point of the window area to a destination point of the window area, first select the symbol or expression by pressing the mouse button with the cursor at less than 8 pixels from it, then release the mouse button at the destination point. The symbol or expression is relocated (provided the destination point is at least 51 pixels from all other previously drawn symbols or expressions and at least 20 pixels from all previously drawn lines not ending at the symbol or expression). To remove an item, which is a symbol, an expression, a bond or a line, from the window area choose Delete item from the menu Edit, move the mouse cursor, which has the shape of a cross, to the position of the item and click on the mouse button. The item is removed. If a symbol or expression is deleted, all lines ending at it are deleted as well. To remove all the charges on a symbol or expression select Delete charges from the menu Edit, move the mouse cursor, which has the shape of a cross, to the position of the symbol or expression and click on the mouse button. All charges are cancelled. To remove all the electrons on a symbol or expression select Delete electrons from the menu Edit, move the mouse cursor, which has the shape of a cross, to the position of the symbol or expression and click on the mouse button. All electrons are removed from the symbol. Delete all under Edit clears the area completely. Delete arrows under Edit removes all drawn arrows. To restore the state before the last draw operation, select Undo from Edit. With Undo also the opening of a new file can be undone. For Linux and Solaris, where a redraw stop creates a blank window area, Undo reloads the formula that was redrawn. |
